Once a cramped besser-block shack, this home was a maze of awkward rooms and missed opportunities. Upstairs bedrooms blocked views, the kitchen faced the wrong way, and natural light was scarce.
We flipped the plan, relocating the kitchen upstairs to overlook the long garden, its joinery flowing into a built-in dining seat. The old kitchen footprint became a generous beach-ready entry that wraps into a rumpus and TV zone for the kids.
Stage two introduced a 25-metre pool, sited for privacy behind an undulating fence that dissolves into the garden. Downstairs, bathrooms and bedrooms were reworked with a painted “waterline” to disguise low ceilings, while exposed rafters created a cosy bolt-hole feel.
Upstairs, removing an ill-placed bedroom unlocked light and flow. The new dining area now enjoys leafy views, while the master suite gained a walk-through robe and bath. Weatherboards, re-proportioned windows and a double-door entry complete a home of coastal elegance and ease.
