Renowned interior designer Chelsea Hing opened her eponymous studio in 2007, and was quickly named one of The Age Melbourne Magazine’s up and coming designers to watch.

Since then her firm has built a reputation
for strong technical skill, a richly layered aesthetic, and an uncanny foresight
for how a client will live, love, entertain and relax in their home. Their interiors regularly make the pages of glossy magazines like Belle and Vogue Living, but more importantly achieve one simple aim;
to make you feel good.

When I was teenager, I set to work rearranging the furniture in my parents’ ‘difficult to get right’ living room. Back then, I knew a beautiful room naturally flowed from good bones, focal points, personality and character -- well before I knew what they were called.

I sensed intuitively that a home should function well and reflect the people who live there. Only later did I learn that I could use design to paint their portrait.

Fast forward to today:  I’ve built a design studio renowned for those very same things.


I love working with clients to create homes they absolutely love to live in. Places that could be in glossy magazine spreads
(and often are), but that function in real life -- and enhance it.

My style?  It’s a blend of classic, European, moody and unexpected that’s hard to pigeonhole -- because I never do the same thing twice, but rather respond each time to the client and the home.


A decade on, I’m proud to say I still love re-arranging the furniture (and then some!) , and I continue to get a kick out of crafting spaces that energise the soul and connect us with ourselves.

Every interior we create is a heartfelt personal portrait, hallmarked by our
simple design ethos; a beautiful interior can be life changing.

This approach has earned us a swag
of award nominations and a portfolio of beautifully resolved interiors, published both abroad and closer to home in
Belle, Vogue Living, House & Garden
and Inside Out.

It’s also earned us many a
dinner invite from our clients.
